Nat’l workshop on civil service reform programme underway in Harrar town

Harar, September 05, 2006 (WIC) - A national workshop that would enable federal and regional civil service offices to solve the execution problems they have been facing in implementing the civil service reform programme kicked off here today.

Harari state Chief Administrator, Murad Abdul Hadi, told the joint discussion and experience sharing forum that the workshop would have significant contribution to the realization of the civil service reform programme,and in particular to the human resource administration reform.

He said the joint forum helps the federal and regional civil service offices alleviate various obstacles they face while implementing the reform programme and share experiences.

Murad said the human resource administration reform sub-programme is also of paramount importance in assessing the strengths and weaknesses in the execution of projects and adopting better future directions.

Some six research papers would be presented and deliberated upon by the participants, it was pointed out.

Officials and representatives drawn from various federal and regional civil service offices, including the Addis Ababa and Diredawa Provisional Administrations were in attendance of the three-day workshop.
